The things hiding between the pages

Some stories are inspired by one particular thing.

Others are made from hundreds of tiny pieces.

A song you hear at exactly the right moment.

A movie you can’t stop thinking about.

A line from another book.

A place you’ve visited.

A character who suddenly takes a conversation in a direction you didn’t expect.

A feeling you can’t quite explain.

This story is definitely the second kind.

I’ve always been drawn to stories that combine big worlds with very human problems.

Give me a collapsing kingdom, a dangerous city, an ancient mystery, or a world on the edge of destruction—and then make me care about two people arguing over something completely ordinary in the middle of it.

That’s the good stuff.

Because underneath all the monsters, politics, danger, and magic, I’m most interested in the relationships.

Who trusts whom?

Who doesn’t?

Who stays when leaving would be easier?

Who makes the wrong choice for the right reason?

And who are we when the rules we’ve relied on stop making sense?

Those questions are woven throughout this series.

And yes, there are plenty of darker things waiting in the pages, too.

But some of my favorite moments aren’t the huge ones.

They’re the quiet conversations.

The ridiculous jokes at exactly the wrong time.

The friendships that weren’t supposed to happen.

The moments when someone realizes they care much more than they intended to.

Those are the pieces that make a world feel real to me.

And those are the pieces I’m most excited to share with you.

Next time, I’ll be sharing something a little more tangible…

A first look at what’s coming.

Until then,

Selisee
